Jazmin Sawyers unsure of long jump final expectations

English long jumper Jazmin Sawyers admits that she does not had a specific target for the final at the Commonwealth Games.

Jazmin Sawyers has admitted that she does not have a specific goal for the long jump final at the Commonwealth Games.

The Team England athlete jumped 6.39m to secure a place in tomorrow's final, alongside compatriots Shara Proctor and Lorraine Ugen.

The 20-year-old told reporters: "At this point there aren't any [expectations]. My goal for the season was to make the Commonwealths, now that I'm here it was to make the final, and now I've made the finals I need to speak to my coach and reassess what we want to do. But that's the whole point of it, to set a new goal once you reach each step."

Cameroon's Marlyne Ngoa Ngo jumped 6.52m to post the longest distance in qualifying.
