Britain's Yamile Aldama wins the women's triple jump at World Indoor Championships in Istanbul.

Britain's Yamile Aldama has won the women's triple jump at World Indoor Championships in Istanbul.

The Cuban-born jumper, who is eligible to represent Great Britain after receiving citizenship in 2010, recorded a leap of 14.82m to take the gold medal.

Aldama's closest rival was Olga Rypakova of Ukraine, who jumped 14.63m to claim silver.

The 39-year-old went into Saturday's final as best qualifier, having recording a season's best of 14.62 metres on Friday.

It is Aldama's second major tournament medal after her silver at the 1999 World Championships in Seville.
