Mo Farah has been confirmed as one of the participants in the Lisbon Half Marathon on March 22.
It will be the first time that the 31-year-old has taken part in the event, which will also be the opening run of his outdoor season.
The Olympic and world 5,000 and 10,000m champion will compete with the African quartet of Stephen Kibet, Silas Kipruto, Guye Adola and Aziz Lahbabi, all of whom have significantly faster personal bests over the distance.
Farah's best ever time came in the Great North Run last year as he clocked in at exactly one hour.
"We are very proud to have Mo in this race for the first time," race organiser Carlos Moia told the official IAAF website.
Farah's first race of 2015 is due to come in Birmingham at the Indoor Grand Prix on February 21.
