Great Britain's 400m runner Nigel Levine has paid tribute to the crowd inside the Olympic Stadium this afternoon.
The 23-year-old received a loud reception from his home support prior to his opening race of the Games.
Having gone on to qualify for the semi-finals, Levine took the opportunity to thank the supporters.
"It was all right. I just had to make sure I qualified and now it's on to tomorrow," he told BBC Sport. "The crowd is fantastic and I just had to try to not get into it too much so I could concentrate on what I needed to do."
Levine is competing in his first ever Olympics.
