Great Britain's Andrew Turner has admitted that he feels sorry for fellow hurdler Liu Xiang.
Former Olympic champion Liu pulled up with an Achilles injury during the early stages of his 110m heat earlier today, a race that Turner went on to win.
Having suffered with similar injuries during his career, 31-year-old Turner has a lot of sympathy for the "greatest hurdler ever".
"I know full well how painful Achilles problems are and what Liu has gone through in the last four years and for this to happen is devastating and I really feel for him because he's the greatest hurdler ever," Turner told BBC Sport.
Reports have claimed that the Chinese athlete may now retire from the sport.
