Anyika Onuora misses out on 200m semi-final

Team GB's Anyika Onuora misses out on qualification for the women's 200m semi-final after being pushed out of the fastest loser spot in the final heat.

Team GB's Anyika Onuora has missed out on a place in the women's 200m semi-final after failing to qualify as a fastest loser.

Onuora finished fourth in her heat with a time of 23.23s, losing out to Grenada's Janelle Redhead, who recorded a time of 23.08s.

However, Onuora remained in the final fastest loser qualifying spot until the final race, only for Evelyn dos Santos of Brazil to finish fourth with a time of 23.07s.

Britain will have two representatives in the semi-final, however, as Margaret Adeoye and Abi Oyepitan both clinched automatic qualification.

The women's 200m semi-final will take place tomorrow evening.
