Great Britain's Mo Farah describes his 5,000m heat as "difficult" after finishing third to guarantee qualification for Saturday's final.

The Olympic 10,000m champion Mo Farah has described his 5,000m heat as "difficult" this morning.

The British long-distance man claimed third place to guarantee automatic qualification for Saturday's final and admitted to tiredness afterwards.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the 29-year-old said: "Yeah it was pretty difficult, I'm pretty tired today.

"I kept getting caught, there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on, that's what happens in the heats, hopefully it will settle down in the final."

Saturday's race begins at around 7.30pm.
