British duo finish in World Cross Country Championships top 20

Gemma Steel and Rhona Auckland finish 18th and 19th respectively at the World Cross Country Championships.

Great Britain's Gemma Steel and Rhona Auckland both finished in the top 20 of the World Cross Country Championships in China earlier today.

Twenty-nine-year-old Steel, who claimed 18th spot, clocked a time of 28 minutes and 14 seconds, while her teammate Rhona Auckland was three seconds further behind in 19th.

The race was won by Kenya's Agnes Jebet Tirop in a time of 26 minutes and one second.

Meanwhile, in the men's race, Britain were represented by Charlie Hulson (54th), Dewi Griffiths (69th), Jonny Hay (83rd) and Andy Butchart (85th).
