The USA men's 4x100m relay team have qualified for the final of the event thanks to a victory during this evening's Olympic semi-final.
Despite heading into the race with a recent reputation of failing to pass the baton around cleanly, the four-man squad had no problems on their way to securing the win.
They were led home by Justin Gatlin, who crossed the line in a time of 37.38s, which is a national record.
Japan came second, while Trinidad took the final qualifying slot in third.
