Boston Red Sox have beaten the Detroit Tigers 5-2 in game six of the American League Championship Series at Fenway Park to set up a World Series final against St Louis Cardinals.
A home run from Shane Victorino sealed the win for Ben Cherington's side, who were 2-1 down heading into the seventh but had forged 5-2 ahead by the start of the eighth.
The Tigers could not find any way back, meaning John Henry-owned team will compete for their eighth Major League Baseball crown and first since 2007.
The first match against the Cardinals, who beat the Los Angeles Dodgers to reach the finale, takes place at Fenway Park on Wednesday.
