Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt has clarified comments that he made about power forward Kevin Love on Sunday.
Blatt suggested that Love was "not a max player yet" after the loss to the Sacramento Kings, but he insists that it wasn't a criticism of his star forward.
"I was simply saying that with our team, he does not have a max contract because we're not allowed to talk to him about anything until after this season is over. That was really where I was going with that," Blatt told the media.
"So I think that's very unfortunate the way that that turned out. That's the way of the world sometimes. I guess I got to be clearer in my thoughts."
Blatt also revealed that he had spoken to Love about his comments and that the pair had put them into context and understood what he had meant.
