Kyrie Irving: 'I'm ready to go after fall against Ukraine'

Point guard Kyrie Irving dampens any speculation of an injury despite taking a heavy fall against the Ukraine as the US took part in the World Cup of Basketball.

Point guard Kyrie Irving has looked to dampen any injury concerns after his recent fall against the Ukraine in the World Cup of Basketball.

The Cleveland Cavaliers player looked to have taken a hard hit on the court as the USA overcame the Ukraine earlier this week, but Irving has now followed up a brief statement on Twitter to declare that he is raring to go.

"I mean it was a tough fall, obviously," Irving said, according to The AP.

"I just lost my footing. It could happen any time in a game. But, like I said, it's just a minor bruise but I'm ready to go.

"It was a scare and obviously we have a little bit more followers than we had before with the Cavs. So it was a level of concern, but more or less for my family and my friends, letting them know I was OK. I just wanted to make sure everybody knew I was OK."

After World Cup duties, Irving will return to the Cavs as the franchise looks to prepare for the start of the next NBA season in October.
