Mark Jackson thanks Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry was given the opportunity to record a triple-double in the victory over the Philadelphia 76ers as a way of thanking the point guard, reveals head coach Mark Jackson.

Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson has claimed that he allowed Stephen Curry to record a triple-double on Monday night to show how thankful he has been for his form.

Curry had 18 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds in the convincing victory over the Philadelphia 76ers but Jackson revealed that he wouldn't normally leave the point guard on the court when the win was safe.

The former NBA All-Star told reporters: "He's done everything right for me, put me in position to be a successful coach.

"It's a way of saying thank you. I wouldn't have kept him in much longer, but he deserved it."

Curry has averaged 22 points in the first four games this season.
