Stephen Jackson: 'LA Clippers' shirt protest was stupid'

Former Los Angeles Clippers player Stephen Jackson criticises the team's method of protest against an apparent racist remark made by owner Donald Sterling.

Former Los Angeles Clippers player Stephen Jackson has criticised the team's method of protest against an apparent racist remark made by owner Donald Sterling.

The Clippers players decided to wear their jerseys inside-out in protest against the owner, however Jackson has claimed the method didn't go far enough and has labelled the team's actions as "stupid".

"I was on that team earlier this season," Jackson said, according to Sporting News.

"I know those guys wanted to say what I said, but they don't have the balls to do it.

"I wouldn't have played. I told all the guys on the team I wouldn't have played. I didn't agree with the black tape and flipping the jerseys over. It was all stupid to me."

Sterling was handed a $2.5m fine and banned for life from the NBA following an investigation into his comments.
