The Los Angeles Lakers rose victorious in the hallway rivalry as they beat the Los Angeles Clippers 116-103 on the opening night of the NBA season at the Staples Center.
The Clippers managed to take a lead of 57-55 going into the break, despite some hungry play from a predominantly young Lakers side.
Doc Rivers's side then pushed their advantage home further early in the third having added another eight points, but the Lakers rallied to produce a stunning fourth-quarter comeback, with Jordan Farmar and Xavier Henry impressing.
Henry managed to pull off an impressive feat having scored a career-best of 22 points on the night, while Farmer added a telling contribution of 16 as the Lakers edged to a 13-point victory.
