Portland Trail Blazers guard Steve Blake exercises player option for new season

Portland Trail Blazers will have guard Steve Blake on their books for another season as he exercises his player option for the 2015-16 campaign.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Steve Blake has exercised his player option for the 2015-16 season.

Blake will now enter his sixth NBA campaign with Portland, after the news was announced by the franchise's president of basketball operations Neil Olshey.

The 34-year-old appeared in 81 games for the Trail Blazers last season as they made it to the playoffs, before being knocked out by the Memphis Grizzlies over five games in the first round.

Blake has an average of 6.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists over 12 years in the league.
