DeMarcus Cousins has moved closer to signing a new contract with the Sacramento Kings, according to reports.
The 23-year-old center is reportedly keen to extend his stay with the Kings, who selected him with the fifth pick of the 2010 Draft.
Cousins is hoping to agree a five-year deal which will be worth over £50m, according to ESPN.
An NBA rule means that the deadline for a possible extension to be agreed is October 31.
The Kings begin their season against the Denver Nuggets a day before the contract deadline.
