Bulgaria's Detelin Dalakliev has hung on for victory despite a battling performance from Australia's Ibrahim Balla.
Balla landed the cleaner shots but it was Dalakliev who shaded an even first round, taking a 5-4 lead into the second.
A straight right had the Bulgarian scrambling in the second, before a decent left hook notched another point in his name.
The second stanza ended level, giving Dalakliev the slight advantage as they entered the decider.
The Australian pressed Dalakliev from the bell, unleashing a string of combinations in a bid to keep his medal challenge alive.
Dalakliev was not keen to engage Balla, who was finishing far the stronger fighter.
A close fight ended with Dalakliev being awarded a 14-10 decision.
