John Joe Nevin of Ireland has advanced to the second round of the Olympic bantamweight tournament with a victory over Dennis Ceylan of Denmark.
Nevin began the bout on the front foot and took the first round by a margin of five points to two.
The 23-year-old further asserted his superiority over the Dane in the second round, producing some nice combinations, switching from body to head.
The Irishman started to showboat as he had established a 13-4 lead heading into the final round, and went on to wrap up a comprehensive 21-6 victory.
