British super-flyweight Paul Butler has admitted that he has studied the style of IBF champion Zolani Tete ahead of their fight in Liverpool on Friday night.
Butler will attempt to become a two-weight world champion when he faces the South African, but the former IBF bantamweight title holder has acknowledged that he needs to combat his opponent's southpaw stance to emerge victorious at the Echo Arena.
The 26-year-old told Sporting Life: "I never normally watch my opponents but I have watched Tete because of how tall and awkward he is.
"I've only seen him on tape and he's a good quality operator - very tall, very awkward and if I let him do what he wants to do, then he can be unbeatable at times.
"He likes to use his range but the best thing I've learned is that he hates pressure so I'll be looking to pile it on, but not gung-ho. It's got to be educated pressure and done at the right times - when I want to apply it, not when he wants to work. He won't get his own way on Friday."
Butler is currently undefeated in 17 professional fights, while Tete has 19 wins from 22 outings.
