Paul Smith bemoaned "bad decisions" after his unanimous points defeat to Arthur Abraham on Saturday evening.
The WBO super-middleweight title fight was scored 117-111, 117-111, 119-109 in favour of Abraham in Germany, and the Liverpudlian was far from happy with the judges' verdicts.
He told the Liverpool Echo: "I had so many bad decisions. It's three old fellas sitting at the side of the ring breaking kids' hearts - and it's no different at the top level.
"There are three people sitting at ringside on Saturday night who have not scored the fight correctly.
"It's ruined my dreams and broken my heart. I thought I won the fight but I've got nothing to show for it."
Smith has 35 wins from 39 fights.
