Team GB boxer Pat McCormack has booked his spot in the second round of the World Championships after overcoming Dmitri Galagot of Moldova on points in Doha.
Light-welterweight McCormack went after his opponent in the early stages of the first round and was awarded the opener 10-9 on all three of judges' scorecards.
Two judges scored the second round 10-9 McCormack, while there was also a 10-8 for the Brit, who kept a good distance from Galagot for all three rounds of the contest in Qatar.
The 20-year-old continued to control the contest in the final round and looked confident of the victory before the decision was confirmed by the referee.
As it transpired, two judges had awarded the third to Galagot, but McCormack still recorded a 3-0 win.
McCormack will fight Russia's Vitaly Dunaytsev on Thursday for a place in the quarter-finals.
