Great Britain's Beijing silver-medallist David Florence has reached the C1 finals day with the fifth-fastest time on his second run of 93.04.
Florence was just outside of the qualification times in 13th with his first run of 101.60, but comfortably beat this with his second run to ease into Tuesday's semi-final.
Slovakia's Michal Martikan pulled off a fantastic second run, moving from 16th to first with a 90.56 and while Florence was level at the final split the Brit could only manage fifth.
Leader after run one, Benjamin Savsek of Slovenia, missed two gates on his way to a 203.42, but his initial 90.83 was enough to see him through overall in second.
The 12 semi-finalists will be whittled down to eight, who will have one run for the medals.
