Great Britain's Richard Jefferies fails to qualify for the final of the men's canoe single 200m.

Great Britain's Richard Jefferies will not challenge for a medal in the final of the men's canoe single 200m after finishing in sixth place.

The Brit, who was not expected to reach the final via the semi-final at Eton Dorney, had a slow start out of the blocks.

Ukraine's Yuri Cheban safely qualified after blasting into the lead, while Russia's Ivan Shytl and Lithuania's Jevgenij Shuklin secured the quickest times in their respective semi-finals.

Mathieu Goubel will also fight for a medal for France in the final alongside Spain's Alfonso Benavidez Lopes de Ayala and Dzianis Harazha for Belarus.
