England bowler James Anderson has revealed that all-rounder Ben Stokes has added balance to their side's lineup against Australia.
Stokes came into the team after Jonathan Trott returned home after the first Test, and Anderson has described the addition of the Durham man as a "godsend" after the 22-year-old got through 14 overs on day two of the fourth Test match in Melbourne.
The 31-year-old told Sky Sports News: "The addition of Ben Stokes has been a godsend for the other seamers.
"Having that added balance in the side with a number-six batsman who can bowl does wonders for the other bowlers."
Anderson recorded figures of 3-50 as England ended Friday's play with a lead of 91 runs after reducing Australia to 164-9.
