Kevin Pietersen will fly out on Sunday to join the England squad ahead of the crucial Test series in India.
The batsman's early arrival comes after his Delhi Daredevils side were knocked out of the Champions League Twenty20. The Indian franchise lost by 22 runs to the Highveld Lions, despite the 32-year-old hitting 50 runs off 44 balls.
Pietersen wrote on Twitter: "Apologies to all the Delhi Daredevils fans. We should have done better today. On a more positive note, I'll be in India on Sunday. Can't wait!"
After a series of meetings with coach Andy Flower and senior players, the South African was recalled to the squad last week.
England will play four Test matches in India starting on Thursday, November 15.
