Piers Morgan blasts ECB after statement explaining Kevin Pietersen axe

Piers Morgan blasts the ECB after they released a statement explaining their reasons for dropping batsman Kevin Pietersen.

Television host Piers Morgan has slammed the England and Wales Cricket Board for their reasons behind dropping England batsman Kevin Pietersen.

The ECB released a statement yesterday suggesting that the 'lack of trust' in Pietersen led to the 33-year-old's England demise.

The statement also made reference to allegations made by people "outside cricket", which many believe relates to Morgan, who claimed that Matt Prior, Andy Flower and captain Alastair Cook contributed to Pietersen's downfall.

The 48-year-old, who is a friend of Pietersen, wrote on Twitter: "After the way he betrayed @KP24 - I wouldn't trust Alastair Cook to take my dog for a walk. And I don't even have a dog. #Judas.

"BREAKING NEWS: It's all MY fault! The ECB sacked @KP24 for stuff I revealed AFTER he was sacked!"

Pietersen scored 8181 runs in 104 Test matches for England.
