England all-rounder Ben Stokes has modestly suggested that his man-of-the-match display against New Zealand was "a fluke".
The 23-year-old hit scores of 92 and 101 with the bat, and then took 3-38 on the final day as England won the match by 124 runs.
Stokes told Sky Sports News: "The whole game itself was pretty special. The momentum kept switching from side to side and the crowd were absolutely fantastic.
"I've been striking the ball pretty well in the nets but I couldn't say I was expecting to do anything like that. It was a bit of a fluke I guess. I'm really happy with the way the game went and more importantly, we got the win."
Stokes averages 36 with the bat in 10 Test matches.
