Andrew Strauss has claimed that the potential return of Andrew Flintoff to county cricket will be exciting to watch.
Despite admitting that he was surprised to hear reports that Flintoff was negotiating a deal to return for Lancashire in the Twenty20 Blast, Strauss believes that seeing the all-rounder perform again can only be good for all parties involved.
"It was extraordinary; I couldn't believe it when I read that," the former England captain told Sky Sports News.
"It's brilliant for Lancashire, brilliant for domestic Twenty20 if he is fit enough to play and fit enough to be able to replicate his form from a few years ago.
"It also speaks volumes for his hunger to get back into the game - he obviously feels there is unfinished business there. If he is fit enough to do it, then it will be great to watch it all unfold."
Flintoff retired from professional cricket at the end of the 2009 Ashes series.
