Broken finger sidelines Sean Ervine

Surgery on a broken finger will keep Hampshire's Sean Ervine on the sidelines for the next six weeks.

Hampshire all-rounder Sean Ervine has been ruled out of action for the next six weeks with a broken finger.

The 32-year-old, who has undergone surgery, suffered the complaint during last week's County Championship defeat to Somerset at the Ageas Bowl.

"Hampshire Cricket can confirm that all-rounder Sean Ervine will miss up to six weeks of action after successfully undergoing surgery on a left index finger fracture," read a statement on the club's official website.

The injury will rule the Zimbabwean out of at least two County Championship encounters, as well as several Twenty20 and one-day matches.
