India's Rohit Sharma: 'We're ready for anything against Australia'

India's Rohit Sharma is "confident" that his team can handle the Sydney Cricket Ground surface when they take on Australia in their World Cup semi-final on Thursday.

India opener Rohit Sharma has insisted that he and his teammates are confident of handling the Sydney Cricket Ground pitch in their World Cup semi-final against Australia on Thursday.

India have secured just one victory from 13 one-day internationals against Australia on the Sydney surface in the last 35 years, but Sharma believes that his team are capable of getting a result.

"We are confident of doing well on any surface," BBC Sport quotes Sharma as saying. "We have taken 70 wickets in seven matches and bowled out the opposition every time, so we know what we need to do. We are ready for anything we get."

At the SCG last week, South Africa's spinners nabbed seven wickets in their quarter-final win over Sri Lanka.
