Police in Delhi are investigating a claim that the match result of a game in this year's Indian Premier League was fixed.
The game in question is the Kolkata Knight Riders' five-wicket win over the Royal Challengers Bangalore, which took place at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium, Ranchi on May 12.
Spin bowler Ajit Chandila, who has had his contract terminated by the Rajasthan Royals after being arrested on suspicion of spot-fixing, made the claim during his interrogation regarding cricket's latest betting scandal.
"Based on Ajit Chandila's interrogation, we are now probing whether an entire match - one played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 12 - was fixed," the Hindustan Times quotes a police officer as saying.
Police are keen to emphasise that they do not yet have any evidence to support Chandila's allegation.
