South Africa captain AB de Villiers has conceded that his side were not good enough in their defeat to England in the ICC Champions Trophy semi-finals.
The Proteas were comfortably beaten by seven wickets at The Oval on Wednesday.
"There are no excuses - I believe we have the talent and the potential to have won this tournament, but we didn't play well enough," De Villiers, who was bowled out for a duck, told Sky Sports News.
"It's been a great tournament, nice and short and sweet, and the best teams come up on top."
England will face either India or Sri Lanka in Sunday's final at Edgbaston.
