South Africa dominated the morning session by bowling India all out for 280 on day two of the first Test in Johannesburg.
The tourists started the day on 255-5 but MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami could only muster 25 runs between them before leaving the crease.
Morne Morkel managed to grab two wickets in the early session, while Vernon Philander impressed on the field by taking three before the innings break.
Graeme Smith (11 not out) and Alviro Petersen (11 not out) took to the crease for the Proteas, with Khan and Shami being tasked with the first few overs for India.
However, the South African pair started off positively with the bat by reaching 22 without loss at lunch.
