Mark Cavendish has confirmed that he will compete in the Tour of Britain, which begins on Sunday.
The winner of the Tour de France green jersey has been made available for the event after withdrawing from the Vuelta a Espana last week.
"Mark's addition will ensure that the sprints are hotly contested," said race director Mick Bennett.
"As a team we have worked hard over the past fortnight to ensure that Mark rides the Tour of Britain."
The race begins in Pebbles, Scotland, and concludes a week later in London.
