Germany's Marcel Kittel has won the opening stage of the Tour de France from Leeds to Harrogate.
The Giant-Shimano rider finished ahead of Cannondale's Peter Sagan and Ramunas Navardauskas of Garmin.
Europcar's Bryan Coquard and Tinkoff's Michael Rogers completed the top five, while defending champion Chris Froome of Team Sky came in four seconds behind Kittel in sixth place.
The race, which lasted 118 miles, ended on a painful note for Mark Cavendish, who was involved in a crash with 200m to go.
