Michael van Gerwen has expressed his delight at beating James Wade in the semi-finals of the PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace.
The Dutchman, who was one dart away from achieving two consecutive nine-dart finishes, saw off his English opponent 6-4 to reach his first final.
"It was a very difficult game for me because I haven't beaten him before on TV and it was great to do it in a tournament like this," the 23-year-old told Sky Sports News.
Van Gerwen will meet Phil Taylor in Tuesday's final following the 15-time champion's 6-4 triumph over Raymond van Barneveld.
