Gary Anderson has recorded his first win over Phil Taylor in a televised ranking event to reach the semi-finals of the Players Championship Finals.
The Scot trailed Taylor during the early stages, but his trademark power scoring was on show as he twice set up opportunities to hit a nine-dart leg.
The perfect game never materialised, but after establishing a four-leg advantage, Anderson hit a 127 checkout to secure a 10-6 win over the 16-time world champion.
Anderson will play Vincent van der Voort in the last four after the Dutchman overturned an early deficit to record a 10-8 victory over Dean Winstanley.
Adrian Lewis booked his place in the semi-finals with a dramatic 10-9 success over Jamie Caven, who missed a dart to defeat the two-time world champion.
Caven missed a shot at the bull for a 167 checkout to win 10-8, but, after that chance went begging, Lewis finished 124 before winning the deciding leg with a 123 checkout as Caven was left stranded on 95.
Wes Newton will be Lewis's opponent in the last four after he comfortably overcame the challenge of Terry Jenkins by a 10-5 scoreline.
