EA Sports has confirmed that Russian clubs and the Russian National Team will be removed from FIFA 22 following the invasion of Ukraine.
Since troops invaded under the orders of president Vladimir Putin, Russian athletes across a wide range of sports have either been banned from competitions or told to take part as neutrals as part of sanctions.
FIFA and UEFA have suspended the Russian National Team and clubs while war wages, and EA Sports have followed suit in the latest demonstration of protest.
A statement released on social media read: "EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.
"In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports has initiated processes to remove the Russian National Team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports FIFA products including: FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online.

"We are also actively evaluating related changes to other areas of our games. We will keep our communities up to date on any actions taken, and thank players for their patience as we work through these updates."
Russian and Belarusian Paralympic athletes have been permitted to compete at the 2022 Paralympic Games, but the IPC announced earlier on Wednesday that they must do so as neutrals.
