AC Milan have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Los Angeles Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the January transfer window.
Manchester United allowed Ibrahimovic to move to the MLS side at the start of 2018, and the legendary Swede contributed 22 goals from 28 appearances during the most recent campaign.
However, speculation persists that Ibrahimovic will pen a short-term deal with a European side at the turn of the year, and AC Milan are known to hold an interest in their former player.
According to Milan News International, club officials have held lengthy talks with Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola regarding a potential switch.
Ibrahimovic's contract with LA Galaxy runs until the end of 2019, but the American outfit are unlikely to stand in the 37-year-old's way if the finances regarding his exit are right.
Milan currently sit in fifth place in the Serie A standings.
