Ramon Diaz: "Argentina are the best"

Ramon Diaz says that Paraguay will be playing the best team in the world when they meet Argentina in the last four of the Copa America.

Paraguay manager Ramon Diaz has claimed that Argentina are the best national team in the world, as the two teams prepare to meet in the semi-finals of the Copa America.

The Paraguayans booked their spot in the last four of the tournament with a penalty shootout victory over Brazil on Saturday evening to stay on course for a second consecutive final appearance.

"Argentina are the best national team in the world," he told reporters. "We know them well and there won't be much time to enjoy this special moment. But the players, the directors, everyone here is very happy.

"This is very important for us - a great step to carry on believing in this project. We have played Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil and none of them have been able to beat us.

"You have to have a lot of respect for this team. The players have shown the fans just what they are capable of doing."

Two-time winners Paraguay were beaten in the final of the Copa America by Uruguay four years ago.
