Juventus forward Carlos Tevez has called on Argentina to unite ahead of the World Cup.
The 30-year-old was omitted from Alejandro Sabella's 30-man provisional squad, despite scoring 19 goals for Juventus in Serie A this season.
Tevez has admitted that he did not expect to be on the plane to Brazil and has asked journalists to concentrate on those who will be playing in the tournament instead.
"Through this medium I want to thank all the people for the nice things and the affection I have received," Tevez wrote on his official Twitter account. "We must understand that I have never been a part of this process. In this national team do not look for problems where there are not.
"I ask reporters, journalists, players, technical staff and directors that they are all united. Pull on the same side. We have to give joy to the people and this is the most important thing.
"For those who are under the illusion that my cycle is finished, do not forget that I come from a place where it was said that it was impossible to win."
Tevez has won 64 caps for Argentina, but has not made an appearance since 2011.
