Arsene Wenger confirms Mikel Arteta out for six weeks, not three months

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirms that Mikel Arteta is expected to be out for a further six weeks as opposed to three months as was initially reported.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mikel Arteta will be out of action for six weeks rather than three months as was first reported.

The Spaniard has been sidelined since November after picking up an ankle injury and following surgery, the club confirmed that a three-month layoff was expected.

However, Wenger has told reporters in this morning's press conference that the midfielder could be available in six weeks' time.

Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Mathieu Debuchy is likely to be out for three months after dislocating his shoulder.
