Emmanuel Adebayor says he is "looking to the future" after his loan move from Manchester City to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 27-year-old former Arsenal striker, who will remain at White Hart Lane until the end of the season, is aware that his Gunners history may not go down well with some fans.

"The past is the past, I'm looking to the future," said the 27-year-old.

"You have to be strong to decide to come to Tottenham, I played for three-and-a-half years for Arsenal and there's a lot of rivalry.

"All I want is to play football and to enjoy myself and today I'm a Tottenham footballer."

The former Togo international will not be able to face City on Sunday due to terms of the loan deal.
