Jermain Defoe says that he will match Jack Wilshere's £3,000 donation to charity if Tottenham finish below Arsenal at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Jermain Defoe has taken up Arsenal rival Jack Wilshere's bet on which side will finish higher in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old Gunners star set up a bet with his Twitter followers, suggesting that Spurs supporters should each donate a pound to charity if Arsenal finish above their North London rivals at the end of the season.

While a number of fans have taken up the midfielder's offer, Defoe has also committed to the bet.

The 29-year-old tweeted: "hear that @JackWilshere I'll take on your bet 3g to charity if spurs finish above arse if not all my arsenal followers send me £1 4 charity".

Arsenal currently sit four spots below Tottenham in the league table, with five points separating the two sides.
