Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby admits that he is "very happy" as he nears a return to fitness.

Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has admitted his delight as he nears a return from injury.

The 25-year-old had his recent comeback hindered by a hamstring injury, but the Frenchman is confident that that he will play a key role in the final months of the season.

"I am very happy to be back – I have done a lot of work with the medical staff to get back in the frame," Diaby told the club's official website.

"I feel good and I hope that things will stay like this for me. It has been very frustrating to get all of these injuries, because I don't play, I don't train and I am in the gym on my own and getting treatment."

Diaby has appeared 161 times for the Gunners.
