Arsenal defender Johan Djourou thinks that teammate Robin van Persie is as good as today's football greats including La Liga giants Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Dutchman has been in scintillating form for the Gunners, with a record of 31 goals in 29 games.
"I don't think there is a hotter striker in Europe at the moment," Djourou told talkSPORT."He is up there with Messi and Ronaldo, he is a great player and a great captain.
"The guy is so talented and he is showing it every week. It is amazing to see him doing all that but he deserves it because he has had problems before with injury. It is good to see him fit now."
Despite the striker's impressive form, there are still questions surrounding the future of the 28-year-old.
"For me [Van Persie's contract situation] is not the main focus, the main focus is to have him fit and have him scoring goals for the team and to keep on winning games," he added.
"That is the thing they have to discuss between him and the club but for me as a player it is just to keep it the way we are and keep fighting for each other."
The North London side are due to take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League at the Emirates tomorrow.
