George Graham: 'Arsenal need a goalscorer'

Former Arsenal manager George Graham says that the Gunners must sign a prolific striker if they are to challenge for the Premier League title.

Former Arsenal manager George Graham has suggested that his old side need to sign a proven goalscorer if they are to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners, who have netted two goals from their opening three Premier League games, have been linked with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Paris Saint-Germain's Edinson Cavani.

Graham, who won two league titles during his time with the North Londoners, has said that Arsene Wenger is lacking the firepower needed to challenge for the big trophies.

"Arsenal need an out and out goalscorer. They're not making enough chances up front and they're not taking their chances either," Graham told talkSPORT.

"They need a striker who can get 25 league goals a season if they want to win the Premier League - but where are they?

"We're all looking around the country looking for the great strikers and great centre halves - they're already with top clubs and they're not available."

Arsenal played out a goalless draw with Liverpool at the Emirates on Monday evening.
