Jackson Martinez reveals Premier League ambition

Porto striker Jackson Martinez expresses an interest in moving to any of several bigger European leagues, but reveals a particular fondness for Arsenal and Chelsea.

Porto striker Jackson Martinez has revealed an affection for both Arsenal and Chelsea while admitting that a move to the Premier League would appeal to him.

The Colombian forward has been prolific for the 2005 Champions League winners, scoring 38 goals in 44 appearances since making the switch to the Estadio do Dragao from Mexican side Chiapas in 2012.

Now in demand across Europe, Martinez has expressed an interest in playing in all of the continents' major leagues, but has hinted that a move to one of London's elite clubs may be his first choice.

"Where would I like to play?" he said in La Gazzetta dello Sport. "When I was a child I rooted for Chelsea and Arsenal.

"I think the best championships are La Liga, the Premier League and Bundesliga, which has grown much in recent years. But I also really like Serie A and have many friends in Italy."

Martinez has been capped 25 times by Colombia, scoring eight goals since debuting in 2009.
