Arsenal attacker Mesut Ozil has backed teammate Matteo Guendouzi to be "a big football player" in the future.
Guendouzi, like Ozil, is still contracted to the Gunners, but the 21-year-old joined Hertha Berlin on a season-long loan over the summer.
An altercation with Brighton & Hove Albion striker Neal Maupay during a Premier League clash in June led to the midfielder losing his spot in the squad, and he ended the season training away from the first team.
Hertha are allegedly keen to sign the France Under-21 international on a permanent deal, having been impressed by his performances during the 2020-21 campaign.
During a Q&A on Twitter, Ozil picked out Guendouzi when asked to name the most underrated footballer that he has played with.
❤️@MatteoGuendouzi - I'm sure he will be a big football player one day! https://t.co/inK6WNRVUh

Ozil, who will see his contract with Mikel Arteta's side expire next summer, also revealed on social media that he 'wishes' he had the chance to help the team during their current struggles.
